As a boudoir photographer, I am often asked what you should do to prepare for a boudoir session. If you book a session with me, you will receive all kinds of information prior to your session giving you all of the details! However, if you are not local to me, or you already have a session booked with someone else, there are a few tips I can give you on how to prepare for your boudoir photoshoot!
Stretch! In the days/weeks leading up to your session, you should absolutely start stretching! Boudoir is just like sexy yoga, there are lots of backbends and stretchy poses! So the more you stretch prior to your session, the easier it will be the day of your photoshoot!
Drink water! Water is very important! Not only is water just good for you overall, but its great for your complexion and helps with your flexibility!
No tanning! This includes spray tans and tanning beds! If you choose to tan, I cannot control any tan lines that may show up in your photos and there is a chance that your skin tone will look orange. If you do choose to tan and require any editing as a result, there is a charge for outsourcing this service.
Clean hair and a moisturized face! The day of your session, all you need to do to prepare for hair and makeup is show up to the studio with clean, dry hair and a moisturized face. Your hair and makeup artist will take it from there!
Loose clothing and no socks. When you come to the studio for your session, be sure to wear loose clothing and no socks! Tight clothing can leave lines in your skin and we want to avoid that as much as possible!
Thongs! I don’t require you to bring much with you to the studio, however I do require you to bring one nude and one black seamless thong or G-string, just in case you decide to wear something from the Client Closet!
Waxing! Waxing is by no means required for your boudoir session! However, if you choose to do any waxing, be sure to do it at least five days before your session. This way your skin has plenty of time to recover from any redness or swelling.
That’s it! Those are all my tips for preparing for your boudoir session! If you have any other questions, be sure to let me know!
