I was fortunate enough to be a facilitator at our recent Rewilding Retreat in West Virginia. Going into the retreat, I was a little hesitant. We had no internet, and very limited cell phone service. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel not being able to connect with my family outside the retreat. To my surprise, I actually really ended up enjoying the opportunity to unplug!
In three days, I did 15 sessions with 15 incredible women. Even though I was working, I felt so in tune with myself and to no one’s surprise (I am very able to tap into my emotions, which I appreciate about myself), I had some moments where I had a good cathartic cry.
I had the opportunity to run and dance in the rain, skinny dip in the river and watch the fireflies at night. I got to know some absolutely amazing women and I got to spend quality time with some of the people I love the most.
During each of their sessions, I got to know the women who attended the retreat on a more personal level, which was such an amazing experience. Everyone had such a beautiful story and reason for coming with us on this retreat.
We all enjoyed amazing food and group activities together. We danced around the fire at night, we made stunning masks out of different things we found in nature throughout the retreat, we sang together, we listened to each other’s stories and held space for one another. It was a truly beautiful experience.
I have found that retreats feed my soul, and this retreat was no exception. I love weaving connections and communities and this was such an incredible opportunity to do just that. The opportunity we had to be together and to just BE was absolutely unmatched.
